Body of Missing St. Anthony Man Found

ST. ANTHONY - The Fremont County Sheriff's Office announced they discovered the body of Albert Kay Nelson in a canal south of St. Anthony just before noon Friday.
He was found tangled in a fence that runs in the middle of the canal by an employee with Summit Truss who was picking apples and noticed a foul smell.
Fremont Search and Rescue said they had looked in the area several times. They believe the body must have recently floated up to the surface.
Albert, who had Down Syndrome, disappeared August 12 from the group home he lived at. Staff at the home said they checked on him the night before, but in the morning he was gone.
Friends held a vigil to raise awareness of his disappearance and to give support to one another. During the vigil, Albert's aunt said she was grateful for the support of the community as they try to find Albert.
Albert's body is scheduled to undergo an autopsy to determine cause of death. Until that is complete, the sheriff's office said the investigation is not over. However, law enforcement said they do not suspect foul play. They added they have no idea how Albert ended up in the water.
Albert's family in the area and in Wyoming has been notified.

May I have this dance, Miss Margie?

Gettin' the party started!

Sweet moves.

I will miss Albert sooooooo very much.

There are so many Albert stories. Nickle and diming me every paycheck to fill your mug. Making jokes about being "retarded" all the time (he loved to see me get all riled up and offended that he would call himself that!). Bawling when and ambulance drove past his house, sirens wailing, because he couldn't see me and thought I was inside it (seriously broke down in SOBS! We both cried). Convincing the caretakers to let me take him to camp with the others and having a BALL once we got there. Talking about Christ and church and hearing all the Bible stories he know (more than I knew). Albert calling my sister Rachel "too ditzy" to "date" but that Emily.... She'd make a nice girlfriend. Eating a little of EVERY dish at Thanksgiving. Calling Seth names because he "took his girl away." Taking him to Burger King on his birthday and ordering ANYTHING he wanted. Hiding in the bushes while trying to sneak into my car so I would fill his mug for him! Laughing. Always laughing at everything.

He is and was such a big part of our family and our holidays. I know he is with his mother, whom he missed VERY much. I can imagine him right now just tickled to death that we are all giving him so much attention.

I'm betting he is hooked up to a Pepsi/Coke IV in heaven....

I love my Albert! We all just loved you so much. I still have boxes of notebooks for you at mom's so you could have a new one on each visit.
What am I supposed to do with them now?

See you in Heaven and say hi to my Sophia bug for me!
You will be MISSED.
I love you Al,

This blog can be a way to record our thoughts and ideas about finding Albert. Share this link with anyone you know that wants to actively search for Albert. If you have questions about the search, post them here, if you have a new idea about where to look, post it here, if you find out something about the investigation, post it here. We can all comment and it will be easier than calling everyone to find out what's going on.
My biggest concern right now is . . .what do we do now? What more can we do? What can we do in addition to what law enforcement is doing to find Albert? I don't have a good answer for any of those questions. But look what we did when we combined our efforts. Let's stay connected and keep each other informed!!!
